Maintenance Engineer

 

We have a very fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team on the Oncology Ward at St James’ Hospital in Leeds. You will work alongside a dynamic team to deliver the required services, ensuring the Hospital is maintained to the highest standard.

This is a permanent role working full-time on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off).

As well as a salary of £30,500 + 15% shift allowance totaling £35,075, you will receive an excellent benefits package listed below.

 

What you will be doing –

You will be providing a customer facing, highly responsive maintenance service on to the Leeds Oncology wing, undertaking a wide range of reactive and planned maintenance tasks and providing technical guidance, assistance and information to other members of the team. You will assist in managing a small team consisting of Mechanical Craftsperson’s and Maintenance Assistants.

 

 

Other aspects of the role include -

• Carrying out maintenance, repairs, testing and inspection of building, mechanical and electrical services, associated systems, plant and equipment.
• Have an awareness of the operational procedures and safe working practices of major items of plant and systems.
• Maintain records and complete service reports, providing regular updates to management.
• Carry out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaption works.
• Undertake training when required.
• Maintain, service and repair the following –

• Heating and domestic water services
• General Electrical services such as lighting and power supply
• Air Handling units
• Emergency standby generating plant
• Fire alarm systems and emergency lighting
• Electrical control systems
• Building Management system

 

What we need from you -

 

• Qualified time served as an Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) with minimum 3 years post apprenticeship experience or similar qualification.
• Relevant hands on experience.
• A polite manner as you will be working near vulnerable people.
